A perfect vacation

Guest: John and Val Hall. Date of stay: October 1, 2011 Review submitted October 12, 2011

Jai……we have had the PERFECT vacation!  Staying in your guest house… which feels like a tree house so high up….. and looking down at the exotic vegetation and out across to the sea, has been so restful and relaxing.  We just loved it all.  And the cherry on the top was meeting YOU!  You are so remarkable.  You stay cool and collected with all that is going on around you and your great personality shines through at all times.  We wish you lived next door to us!  Or rather, that we could live next door to you because our part of the world does not have the magic that yours does.  We felt the vibes Jai and we have come home with all our nerves back in their original places.  We feel so restored.

Honeymooner’s Delight

Date of Stay: March 16, 2011 Review Submitted: April 11, 2011

We chose to get married on the beautiful island of Kauai in March and this cottage was the perfect alternative to staying at a pricey hotel. The jungle setting with the trade winds and bird song drifting through the windows was absolutely perfect. We couldn’t have been happier with our choice, and Jai was the perfect hostess: available to answer all of our questions and give us helpful tips on what to see and do while leaving us to enjoy our honeymoon once they were answered. The cottage is exactly as pictured here and the location on the east side of the island was great for being not too far from whatever we wanted to do. If staying in Kapaa, JJ’s pizza is an absolute must have, as recommended by our hostess (best pizza we’ve ever had). Thanks again for your hospitality and for providing an awesome place to stay Jai. We can’t wait to return!

Perfect family spot for a lush, private, comfortable vacation home!

My husband and I rented the beautiful ocean view cottage with our little boy for almost three weeks. It was the best of both worlds- a quiet, lush, private little paradise yet in less than 10 minutes could be in town or at the beach. The cottage has all comforts of home- full kitchen, bathroom and even a washing machine outside. The grounds are spectacular and the location is close to some of the most beautiful waterfalls and a nearby playground if you have kids. A basket of fresh fruit, chocolate and coffee even awaits your arrival. Jai is so lovely and made us feel so welcomed. She was so helpful in suggesting places to visit, secret hikes, etc, kid friendly outings, etc. I would highly recommend the cottage, and I know we will be visiting again in the future!

A Special Place

Guest: Peg (Pennsylvania)
Date of Stay: June 23, 2010 Review Submitted: July 6, 2010

My husband and I stayed at the Guest cottage for 4 nights in June and we loved it! It is a few miles out of Kapaa Town, but the beautiful garden surroundings make the short drive well worthwhile. The house was spotless and Jai was available to answer all our questions. One evening we treated ourselves to a couples Lomi-Lomi massage in the garden Massage Hale – a magical experience and the highlight of of our trip! This was our first trip to Hawaii, but if we return to Kauai, we will definitely stay here again.

A Month in Paradise – Our Dream Come True!

Guest: SassyLu (Longview, TX)
Date of Stay: December 8, 2009 Review Submitted: May 18, 2010

My husband and I had dreamed for years of spending a month on Kauai, and this was the perfect cottage to spend that month in. It was the ultimate experience from the beautiful island to the adorable little cottage which we found clean, well maintained and as described. We felt as though we had been dropped in the middle of our own private Tropical Jungle with roosters crowing, birds singing, frogs croaking and brighter stars than you could ever imagine. The Gardens were awesome and relaxing, with vegetables, fruits, and colorful flowers and a cute Massage Hale in the perfect spot in the middle. Jai was a wonderful hostess and a good source of information as to restaurants, beaches, the Farmer’s Market and answered any and all of our questions. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this property to friends and relatives.

The Passionfruit Suite – The Best Deal Ever!

Guest: Susan Crockett (Southern Arizona)Date of Stay: October 20, 2011, Review Submitted November 8, 2011

My husband and I stayed at the Passionfruit suite for 7 wonderful nights. This is the best deal ever. The suite was super clean and well furnished, nice 100% cotton sheets. We enjoyed the organic fruit and vegies available from Jai’s garden. We also used the beach equipment including snorkels, fins, towels, umbrella, boggie boards… Jai was a wealth of information including the best restaurants, lesser know beaches and hiking and activities. It’s not right on the beach but the drive is easy, feels more like being a local, and the views from the porch are lovely. Enjoyed Hawaiian music CD’s in suite and used her tour book daily. Quiet place, nice neighborhood. Nice to have washer & dryer. Kapa’a is well located to visit the whole island. Recommend highly – can’t wait to return for a visit!

A Very Pleasant Studio Suite in Kauai

Guest: Andrew Jayasundera Seattle, WA. Review Submitted: November 18, 2011 Date of Stay: October 8, 2011

I enjoyed staying in the Passion Fruit Suite. The mattress and sheets are high quality, and I slept well. It was really nice to get up in the morning and open the curtains to see the sunrise above the bushes and trees or to have tea or coffee on the deck, looking at the same view. I like the fact that Honua Lani gardens is located somewhat away from the main highway, providing both fresh air and a calm atmosphere. I was wondering about any noise from upstairs, but it’s negligible because one removes one’s shoes when entering any of the properties (very pleasant, and also keeps the floor clean), and I heard the car turn into the garage just one night during a week’s stay. If you want a place that is totally separate, then I would recommend the larger guest cottage. However, for a solo traveler or a couple, the Passion Fruit Suite is very suitable. Kapa’a is a great location, because you are mid-way from Lihue/Poipu in the south and the north shore. It’s probably the best location from which to explore the island. There are good restaurants on the island, and Jai has recommendations in the book of information. Kaua’i is lovely and has a mystical beauty. A friend and I especially liked the the North shore landscape, Waimea Canyon, helicopter tour of the island (a splurge, but well worth the cost), and tour of the Hindu temple (near Honua Lani gardens–ask Jai for the scenic backroads way to get there). I hope to come back and stay in the suite again.
