My Name is Jacqueline “Jai” Roberts, I have spent the last 36 years of my life co-creating Honua Lani Gardens as a model of sustainable tropical living. My passion has been to develop a beautiful garden using sustainable methods to grow food and flowers for myself and my community. In my spare time, I explore my creative side by painting on silk and making jewelry.
I offer and manage for longer stays, six months minimum, a private cottage and one bedroom condo where writers, artists, retreat seekers or persons on sabbatical, couples looking to relocate and find a home on Kauai, or simply persons exploring the many healing modalities here on the island can explore their creative endeavors in a beautiful, natural, clean, toxic free setting full of birdsong and lush tropical flora.
Honua Lani Gardens is a model of tropical splendor on Kauai. It has been featured in commercially successful videos including a Brazilian dance video and a Yoga video by Shiva Rea.
The lower three acres offer a garden walk space full of peace and tranquillity, surrounded by ponds and tropical flowers, which we also offer for weddings and all occasions in the garden cart.
I was Club Service Director of the Kapaa Rotary (Kauai’s green leaders) for five years, and networking with others at the Kauai Sustainability Forums, I promote eco-friendly living here on Kauai. I have a vision of a better world for our children and grandchildren where we recycle, reuse, and reduce our waste. In my daily life I walk the walk and talk the talk! We have a county compost bin system on site and guests can request a compost bin to use during their stay.
On my Facebook page (Honua Lani Gardens), my Linkedin, and my Twitter account (Gardens4Life), I give daily advice and gardening tips as well as post fun and informative pictures from my garden estate.
Honua Lani Gardens formerly offered short stays as a vacation rental property but now offers only long term stays, a minimum six months commencing April 1st, 2018.
