My Name is Jai Roberts, I have spent the last 30 years of my life co-creating Honua Lani Gardens as a model of sustainable tropical living. My passion has been to develop my Bed and Breakfast vacation rentals into a beautiful garden space, and to allow people needing rest and relaxation to unwind and live with nature. My goal has been to use sustainable methods to grow food and flowers for myself and my community. In my spare time, I explore my creative side by painting on silk and making jewelry.
The healing arts and Lomi-Lomi massage are a very important part of my daily experience. I am a Massage Therapist and love to bring renewed health and vitality to my clients as they relax in my Massage Hale (house) located in the heart of my gardens.
I have been growing – and bringing to market – beautiful tropical flowers for many years without using any chemical pesticides or chemical fertilizers. I have always believed in creating living soil, composting, and teaching young people eco-friendly living techniques through the Willing Workers on Organic Farms worldwide program.
One of my newest passions is my Garden Cart, where I share the bounty of the gardens with my friends and neighbors.
Honua Lani Gardens is a model of tropical splendor on Kauai. It has been featured in commercially successful videos including a Brazilian dance video and a Yoga video by Shiva Rea. Because of the pristine beauty, peace and tranquillity of the surroundings, we also offer garden wedding packages for nature lovers.
As the Club Service Director of the Kapaa Rotary (Kauai’s green leaders), speaking at seminars, and networking with others at the Kauai Sustainability Forums, I promote eco-friendly living here on Kauai. I have a vision of a better world for our children and grandchildren where we recycle, reuse, and reduce our waste. In my daily life I walk the walk and talk the talk!

Staying in your guest house… which feels like a tree house so high up….. and looking down at the exotic vegetation and out across to the sea, has been so restful and relaxing. We just loved it all. And the cherry on the top was meeting YOU! You are so remarkable. You stay cool and collected with all that is going on around you and your great personality shines through at all times. We wish you lived next door to us! Or rather, that we could live next door to you because our part of the world does not have the magic that yours does. We felt the vibes Jai and we have come home with all our nerves back in their original places. We feel so restored.
